Palazzo Muratori Cravetta is without doubt worth stopping to see on a tour of Savigliano. Recent work has restored the decorative painting to its original beauty on the internal facade, which is the most precious and surprising on the building.
The Palazzo buildings were acquired and extended towards the end of the 16th century by the Cravetta family, who chose it as their representative seat. The internal façade is stunningly elegant: in the niches the busts of the dukes and princesses of Savoy are easily recognizable, above in trompe l’oeil curious women look out of the windows enlivening the whole with pleasant scenes of daily life. Inside the building the Sala Magna is the most precious room with its coffered ceiling formed with 160 painted wooden shapes dated around 1474-1477.
